(not so) Super Moon

Headed down to the coast tonight to try and bag the super moon.

With 16MP though a 200mm it was never going to be epic and of course we had almost total cloud cover - but - I gave it a go and managed a couple of shots.

Just above the sea and still a touch of blue in the sky:

Up a little higher and poking out through slightly thinner cloud:

A few minutes later and we actually got a bit of detail:

As it disappeared for ever behind some seriously thick cloud there was still a little colour in the sky as the King Seaways ferry on its way to Amsterdam passed where we were parked:

A couple of shots taken while waiting for the sun to set and the moon to rise...

The moon rose pretty much 90° to our left as you see this shot so couldn't get the lighthouse in front of it which was an idea in the back of my mind as I drive there.

A good attempt BP, thick cloud down this way didn't get the chance to see anything.

Not that much better here Colin, it appeared through patchy cloud above the horizon at 17:39 and was gone behind solid cloud at 18:02.
