The Lone Customer - Take 2

A re-edit of a photograph I took some months ago. A mono version seemed in order - with texture added to the background.

The subject is a gentleman I met one morning in a village tavern in Cyprus - for me it was coffee time, but he was on his second beer.

When you say mono...? It's a great picture though, with just greys and browns making a very effective combination for this particular character.

Thanks, Chris - from this (and other comments you've posted) I suspect your colour vision is much, much keener than mine. I don't see nuances of colour and so often get it wrong.

I think this is a strong portrait and I'm pleased with the result - it was taken in 2016 too, so you may see it again in a week or three.

Got to agree with Chris on this one. I see a very unsaturated, cross between b/w and sepia image with a hint of flesh colour in the face. For me, more pleasing than a b/w mono conversion.

Korks....I always enjoy your images, so keep on flying by the seat of your pants. Your post processing is what I enjoy most, especially your still life photos. One day I'm going to find a way of blackmailing you into doing one of Poly's step by step tutorials. So be warned!

Colour / mono. It's academic.

Fact is, it's a solid image for me. Nice one.

Great image and one I would have been proud to have taken Korky. processing is superb as usuall and yes there is a slight bias to red but who cares it looks all the better for it than mono in my opinion.
