I'm psychic Korks! .... I  thought I'd mentioned that before ... I  send most of my messages telepathically

Used to save   on the telephone bills in the old days Ron  !!

Not 100% sure about Drones ... quite a worry that anyone can seem to buy one ...despite the regulations that apply . In the wrong or incompetent hands...they sound a bit dangerous .. I  imagine there must be public liability insurance which could be expensive etc .

Firstly, as this is my very first flight I've haven't bothered a great deal with the editing, it is what it is. The PiP is ever so slightly out of sync, my phone was set a little low and falls over eventually, and I've done no post processing at all.
The video is 12 minutes long, if you don't watch it all you must watch the last minute. When you're trying something clever it helps to remember you're stood in front of a tree

The second video was a visit back to the field to make sure all was well after the, er, mishap, and is only 7 minutes long

Well you did a pretty good job for first time out Phil. You will have seen how stable they are from the onboard gyro,s. How did you find flying back towards yourself. Up until 5 years ago I designed, built and flew R/C aircraft for 20 years, flying away from yourself is like driving, left stick (wheel) is left and right stick is right. Flying back towards yourself can become a little bit difficult at first and some people struggle with it to start with. Others take to it like a duck to water, the key is, keep your speed down, if it goes wrong speed is a killer. Just keep practicing and it will all become second nature.

They sound brilliant if used well  but you can guarantee that  there will be idiots that abuse the facility and  also endanger life ... I read that a child was blinded in one eye  when hit by one recently  .... ... I was  impressed at  how much control you had for your first flight  Phil ...and that you were in a nice big open field !  I saw the Humber Bridge in the background ...must get over there to get some pics one day ;)

I found the flying quite easy, unfortunately I got a little too ambitious and forgot I had tree behind me :X

A lesson to be had there Phil, be a good idea to walk further out into the field. Then if you do overshoot when flying back to yourself you wont have to worry about trees and bushes.
