I have a few old lenses that I either wanted to keep or were too old to sell.

One of my favourites is the smc PENTAX-F 50mm f1.7 that has spent a lot of time on the front of the K30 - that lens I love for its hexagonal rendering of spectral highlights so a quick trawl round Amazon found an adapter for about £10 that lets it fit and work remarkably well on the Fuji. Its manual focus (it will focus to infinity without the need for optics) and can be used in aperture priority or manual with accurate indications of exposure.

Going to be fun to use...

Like younBP,mI too have a large collection of vintage M42 screw thread lenses of varying quality .....many produce amazing results......as do my Cheapy Chinese CCTV lenses from EBay.......they are great fun......all manual focus of course.

Is that going to be your new AVATAR?

I'm looking forward to experimenting with random lenses in a way that isn't possible with a DSLR. My mum's partner has a room full of kit including a good sized Contax/Zeiss outfit which I'm desperate to get my hands on and a handful of Olympus lenses some of which have superb reputations.

He would make a fun avatar wouldn't he - its a drinking cup (?) that Thomas got. You rip its head off, fill it with juice then bung a straw in its head - lovely things kids :-)
