LOOK AFTER YOUR CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!

I have been chatting to a neighbour just returned from a Skiing break in Swizerland..........at the airport whilst waiting for a lift, he returned a luggage trolley to the rack.......YES! You guessed it....

......When he returned to his bags, a backpack containing a brand new unused iPad, his camera plus other personal bits and bobs had been stolen........The theft ruined what had been planned as a great Christmas break.....he is still negotiating with Swiss officialdom and insurance companies.

Two hard lessons learned here...

1: NEVER EVER leave your bags unattended at an airport........opportunists thieves are instantly on the prowl looking for victims just like him.

2: Read the small print on both the purchase protection on any expensive brand new goods, and that of your.....House Contents .....insurance......He had recently agreed to take a cheaper option, not realizing that it compromised claiming for items taken out of the UK.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

That's a shame!

Some people are so despicable.

I know people are insured when they go abroad, but it's the upset and sorting out that is so stressful, isn't it? apart from not being able to replace the lost holiday photographs that can't be repeated.

I hope the insurance company don't try to wriggle paying the full amount and sort it soon.

Both of my daughters have had their houses burgled in the past and I know how it affected them.

I'm rather surprised he left any unattended bags at an airport, these days it can set off a full scale security alert. :hope:

He was in sight if his luggage the whole time, it just took a second or two fir his backpack to be lifted up and away......his fault for being too British.......other travelers would have just abandoned the trolley.
