Giverny - Monet's Garden

Black Pearl

Recommended Posts

One of the days out we had in France was to Giverny where Monet spent twenty years of his life trying to capture the ever changing light on the gardens. There is a fantastic museum dedicated to impressionism which was almost worth the drive and the house where he lived but it was the gardens themselves that made the photographer in me want to stay.

I took the usual tourist shots but also tried to get some pictures that I felt followed Monet's style - see what you think.

Thanks

It was an amazing place to visit but very busy. I would love to go out of usual hours, say very early in the morning when the light is softer and there are longer shadows.

That's the trouble isn't it ... flippin' tourists everywhere .....
