I surprised myself with this capture.....Why?

Because it was taken the old fashioned way,.........I had fitted a vintage M42 thread SUPER TAKUMAR 55-1.8 lens on to my GX7, so focussing was totally manual.

This particular pigeon is current enemy number one, he has become so bolshie because he only flies a few feet away when I chase him off my bird feeder, he just standS and stares me out, if I close the door he is straight back stuffing his beak, whilst repelling all other birds.

For this shot it gave me an advantage in that he allowed me to get remarkably close before he eventually lost his nerve to reluctantly take off.

Just lately, I have been using a variety of my vintage manual lenses, just to get the old film days experience, it can be very frustrating, challenging but ( as here) very rewarding.........the vintage glass gives excellent results once mastered.

If you can acquire adapters for your camera I can reccomend this cheap way of using high quality glass.
