I flew to Alicante last Saturday. When we went to pick up prebooked car hire they had lots of hidden costs. They wouldn't accept that I had bought extra insurance and paid the car hire through a broker. They wanted 980 Euros deposit. 165 Euros car hire and insurance. 98 Euros for a tank of petrol. We told them to shove it and were stranded with luggage and a bike and had to get bus and taxi to our remote village in the hills. Then the next day when hubby unpacked his bike jet2 had mishandled it so badly his aluminium frame had snapped. We were stuck in a remote village for the whole week and all there was to do was go to the butchers the corner shop the bars of which there was 4 or laze by the pool. Camera was totally redundant! Have had full refund off car broker but jet2 will get back to me within 21 days!

Thats bad luck, I think things in Europe are going to get a whole lot worse after the Greek vote.  Best avoid for a while I think.....

Yes i agree JH, but then again, they will be desperate for the tourist dollar. And we had a blast when we traveled through Greece (admittedly a few years ago). Don't think I ever drank so much Retsina in my life (and never will again!)

Absolute bummer of a trip Chrissy, hope it all works out in the end.
