It Hatched!

Recommended Posts

If you've been following the progress of the caterpillar Dylan has been 'looking after' in his bedroom then this is its final chapter.

Of course it hatched while we were out so I couldn't get the event but I did manage to get these sixteen shots which I focus stacked to get a decent DoF.

I like the first shot... nicely detailed. The butterfly looks like a Small Tortoiseshell to me... am I correct?  Nice to see Dylan is showing an interest in nature, do your best to encourage him BP.

Well done BP it was always going to be difficult to time the exact moment but you caught it before it was gone.

I bet Dylan will be searching for more now as it is caterpillar time for a few species.
