I've been waiting for  a couple of Goldfinches to return  the feeding station( after spotting them briefly a few weeks ago) .. to try out the Panasonic FZ1000... took this through the open kitchen window yesterday ... Quite pleased with the bird part of it   ...Pity about the plastic tube though ..

Lovely. I get Goldfinches in the garden but the little buggers will not come down to the feeders..they just sit at the top of a conifer tree....

Thanks Annie .... I know what you mean ... Once  I had enticed them with the Niger seeds it seems they call in every day to check out  what's on the menu .... If I forget to put out the black seeds at least once every 4-5 days ... they stop coming and it seems to take weeks before they find out on the "grapevine" that  they are back on the menu !

Thanks Paul ...  I  did think about cropping tighter but worried that  it would unbalance the pic ... should have actually  tried it as it does work ... thanks ...goldfinch_at_last_2nd_crop_s.thumb.jpg.8

Simple  but I really thought it was going to look odd till I tried it ... Just goes to show how the eye CAN deceive sometimes.. Moral... never presume ! lol,

The crop really works well :)

It does I agree Judy .... Felt a bit daft  for not actually trying to crop so much tighter before Paul suggested it really ... so obvious    but then "wood for the trees " springs to mind :lol:Thanks again Paul
