Another walk by the river

Managed to get up early and spend all morning from about 07:30 walking by the river. A mixed bag but some interesting stuff to be seen:

I was pushing my luck with this one - it was a long way off but the sun it was enjoying was strong so I tried something daft. Shot with the 200-400 @ 400, with the 1.4 x TC engaged and put my 2 x TC between lens and camera. 1120mm with a minimum aperture of f/11. I was laid prone hand holding as if firing a rifle and had to manually focus... The IQ hasn't really suffered too much surprisingly and it is reasonably sharp too!

I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to bird images, James, but to my eye, the first heron shot is an absolute cracker. Well done!

excellent set and that last one is incredible considering its hand held at 1120mm that takes some doing
