A Few From The Garden

Recommended Posts

Spent some time sitting in my pop-up hide a couple of metres from the bird table yesterday afternoon which produced a few nice shots.

Beautifully captured sir.......well chosen backgrounds, which is very important on bird photography........one tiny niggle.........and I know this isn't easy.........can you try to record them......doing something?

I do realise, that getting close enough to a wild bird at this detail is wonderful, especially if it is all new to you, I know, I did it myself........but birds are like butterflies, beautiful, wild, but each species are all alike.

So my Robin, will look exactly like your Robin........and so on.......but......if your Robin.....is caught fighting or pulling a worm out of the lawn it makes a far better capture.

It is exactly the same with macro photography......a spider, is a spider is a spider......but capture one going about catching his prey or spinning his web ......can be a winning shot.

Thanks, Fuji.

That's the tricky bit :) I am still getting them comfortable with the idea that there is this hide near them which makes furious clicking noises now and then, so capturing them at all is an achievement at the moment! :) As they settle into the idea more I'm sure they will relax and allow me some action to photograph.

I watched the female blackbird for ages, she was a bit further away but she was hopeless at finding anything in the grass unfortunately.

As I get more used to their behaviour and more familiar with the idea of photographing them, hopefully I will manage to capture some more interesting shots! :)

Hah, thanks BP. You still need a person to work the stuff... :) Like you said it's not the camera...

I'm fortunate enough to be able to spend some money on gear and after all, there's no point being the richest guy in the graveyard, right? :)
