This greenbottle paused as the rain relented to a mere drizzle this afternoon, and I saw there was a droplet of rain water delicately balanced on its back...

It's no problem for me to add it to all my posts if you want. As you say, it gives the viewer information which could be of great use to learn or understand how an image is taken.

it's pictures like this showing good detail that you realise how much there is to being a fly. all the hair sensors, special part to help the fly and keep upright and all the other stuff I don't know about.

Most insects have incredible structure to their bodies which most of us don't usually see.

 

That's why I love close up photography - I get to look at what is under my nose in a whole new way.
