The super-rich colour and the texture here surprised me greatly.....the deep central inside of a flower hanging with dozens of others from one of our shrubs.

 

I'm no gardener and my good lady couldn't remember , so, if you know what the name of the shrub that bears suspended flowers that look like female dancers it would help ID.
