Red Kite Mono

A bit of Marmite I know but just an idea that I had to make up a set of three with two similar images (that I have already posted).  My other half wants to fill a wall with several small pictures and I might be allowed to contribute.

Thanks Polly.  The three are below.  I haven't got the conversion quite right to match the other two yet and it will need to be reprocessed (a bit too graphic).  I think that I would flip the Kite in the frame and make it a little larger, with a canvass to match the other two and then present it on the right with the horse in the middle given that the hare is looking into the frame from the left.  I also have a version of the horse with some light clouds in the BG  which I would probably use instead. That's if I get permission.  Incidentally, I have just been asked if I would sell a mounted copy of the hare that has been exhibited at our local museum but I wouldn't know what to charge and to some extent, I have never wanted to commercialise my hobby.

Oooh I love that Hare John .... the detail of its coat and the way the surrounding grasses recede in intensity really works .. it almost feels like an infra red feel to that aspect of it  and the overall effect  feels a bit like a fine pencil drawing . I’m least happy with the pony  in the trio ...   I think it’s feels less detailed and less crisp... I remember you posted it before and you were not happy with some of the background ... I just wonder if in the processing to lose some of that, you may have compromised some of the sharpness you may have had in the animal .. just a thought and I’m probably wrong ..

As far as what charge you should make  for the hare ... I understand your dilemma. I too don’t want to commercialise a hobby I love  but have sold canvases when asked for  them to be printed specifically  from seeing a print  of the image. I usually charge what the print / canvas costs me plus £25 to £50 to cover  the time spent processing if it has been commissioned especially..   Usually  my reward is the fact that someone else  likes something that I’ve done ostensibly just to please myself, enough to pay  for it ... So as long as I am not out of pocket that’s ok with me ...

Well the prospective buyer has been fairly persistent so I may relent Polly.  I would need to have it reprinted I had about £85 in mind which after print costs is about in line with your costings.  We shall see.

I've found the other version of the horse (below).  I prefer the suggestion of the sky in the BG rather than the blank white of the original post.
