I saw an article in the newspaper today saying Painted Ladies  have been seen in number  30 times more than last  year  meaning about half a million have been recorded as sighted  this year . Apparently  it happens about once every ten years .. So i have no excuse for not catching one this year ...I suspect you've photographed  a good few John ...  Looks like they love your neighbours Buddleia John...

Polly, I have seen and photographed quite a number Painted Ladies this summer, 2009 was a record year though, unfortunately I wasn't as interested in butterfies then and I didn't have such a good camera I was also too busy running my one man courier business to take many photos.

PS: Forgive my absence of late, I will be back soon.

We all have lives to live John, that have priorities which mean the Forum has to take a back seat sometimes ... apologies are not required but thanks for telling us that you will be back . We have enjoyed seeing your photos again  on here .....
