In this one it somehow manages to look to be on a much larger scale that it really is.

Looks a nice scene and works well in mono I would be a bit more brutal with the crop. Crop from the top right and leave out the bottom and left section where the tree branches creep in.

@sjr I see your point, but cropping loses the full sweep of the brook with the reflections.

No I fully get that I just thought that was the strongest part of the picture maybe a wide screen crop taking out a small amount of the foreground. I do like the shot especially when opened in full screen with a black surround.
