  1. Oh right, thanks for all the replies then, I'll see if I even need them first, although I can't imagine having dimmers would be a bad feature! I'll do a lil research if I use some dimmers, my dad is good with electronics too
  2. Oh snap that's not nearly as much as I thought i'd have to spend. This is great, I'll find someone I can get help from to wire it up, as for the housing I can design that in CAD and print that. Thanklyou very much!
  3. So I want to buy some inexpensive studio lights (http://amzn.to/1mRw8VW or http://amzn.to/1ne9doj) to photograph objects with as flat lighting as I can get but these being inexpensive I can't adjust the power of them. So my question is how can I adjust the voltage between the power outlet and lights? I guess I want some kind of voltage regulator but I've got no experience with this sort of thing. Any help is greatly appreciated
  4. Hi all, so I've got these photos I've uploaded to Alamy but the whole thing of property releases with these pictures is proving to be a bit of a head scratcher. I have read up on it so I know certain photos just straight up need property releases if I don't want just a rights managed license but others I'm unsure about... First off there's these two which I took in a field I was passing through but I honestly cannot remember exactly where they were taken and I don't think anyone could prove it's their field, but I guess the recommended thing would be to not sell royalty free without a property release right? Then there's this photo of St Pauls, it is a landmark but I think it was taken technically on their property? I'm assuming that i'd need a release even though it's not inside because I am on the grounds Thirdly I have this photo I took from a public road (I believe, still trying to find this out as I type) and I don't believe I need permission if it's of a regular house facade and not on the property. And lastly to my knowledge (but I just wanted to make sure) I don't need permission if a photo is in a non private woodland or on a mountain (Snowdon)? Thanks in advance for any advice P.S. I'm loving this automatic photo display system, no bbcode needed or anything!
  5. Thankyou all! I hope to see plenty of others work myself
  6. Thanks for the welcomes folks! I don't know my own english skills XD Aha! Thankyou, then I can link me flickr
  7. Hi For now I've got an incredibly soft quadropod *quadraped Dam I can't seem to edit posts Thanks EDIT: Ohh that's how editing works, cool
  8. Thanks, just replied ;D Ah yeah I remember now, forums have these post count rules where you sort of level up behind the scenes. Yeah just spotted that, and thankyou very much! I'll check out your page now (as a flickr tradition of mine too). Also I guess my profile picture isn't a professional as it could be, but I couldn't have bothered the cat for nothing
  9. Hello all my name is James, I've been doing photography every so often for the last 6 years and I love it but I have never really got involved in any photographic communities at all so here I am! Here's my flickr too: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mrjimmyos/ One question, how do I change my signature under my posts?
  10. Welcome to the forums JamesUK :)
