  1. one of my dogs knocked my camera with my favorite tamron 70-300mm lens and it is now broken,.. the zoom does not work unless I pull out the barrel myself to zoom. Has anyone attempted to fix something like this before?
  2. maybe you guys should do a comparison with or without a stofen outside. I dont have any to try myself
  3. I can only reply on the first question, which is £600 the time of the wedding I only just started photography,..so I can understand why they didnt ask me. but seeing the photos they might as well have done.
  4. I like this shot,.. nothing distracting and it shows the love of the couple.
  5. that makes sense. I am not a pro, but I have been studying techniques and what do's and what dont's so we will have a different eye than the customer. and see things they don't But what I was saying is that the result is nothing better than most mobile phone shoots on a wedding. If it was me, than I would be dissapointed seeing things on a photo that wont belong there. The bride looked like she had a tash because the lighting used . It is just too obvious. I have never done a wedding shoot myself, but I think i would have done things a little different.
  6. I saw a couple of photos of my Sis-in law's wedding and I must say for the price she paid the photos were,.. rubbish. My oh received a photo of the bride and my OH's son. I cant show the photo but I explain. taken in a reception area infront of a door with an exit sign in the back ground. obviously her flashgun was also pointed forward as you see lots of shadow on the photo too. So before we printed it I blurred the background (as all was in focus) and got rid of the sign. I so think I could have done better myself! do you guys get annoyed at times for similar reason?

Wordpress is a great tool to make photography websites too.

That is a shame to hear. maybe something pops up at some point.

  10. have a look and maybe try it? http://lightzoneproject.org/
  11. I have seen a video test about the buffer which confirmed the camera dealt better in crop mode and only jpeg... not sure if it was digital rev or another one
  12. very good choice, I think any of his pictures could have won this well done
  13. d7100, and I certainly agree on the buffer it is annoying when you try to take photos of a bird diving! every time I see these and I miss the shot, there are more diving while I have to wait for the buffer
  14. I am looking for a card like this,.. have you got any idea what speed yours is? I find more than one speeds

  16. I think my investment would be mainly in doing the free shoots and the referral to the website I give them. this is where they see the photos and say they love or hate them. And I hope word would go around like that. The flatcoated retriever walkies for example was also a great opportunity to do photos and they all end up on facebook, watermarked but they do get around as the walks are very much promoted so are the photos. Here one of the FC walks(I did mention this in another post) I must say the feedback I got on the walkies photos are brilliant
  17. I do kind of feel guilty charging, but if I start to give free, people do take advantage. I noticed that mainly when I did drawings. This photo was the choice of the costumer, he buys it for his mum as a birthday present, I presume he would like the digital format.
  18. Hi, I recently took some photos of a friends dog and her son would like them as a birthday present (he seen them online) How much could I charge , plus do I sell them with or without watermark at the bottom? here is one of the photos
  19. thank you guys I never thought I could win! It also shows when you miss a shot, it is always worth it to look for other things.
  20. I usually say something like, none of my cameras take photos,.. I leave them on the table all day and when I get back to check them none of them have taken any photos.
  21. great post, what keyboard did you use?
  22. It arrived and it seems sturdy, much better than the silvercrest one. A different system to what I am used to. No shake any more, only if I leave my battery pack on (generic) the only complaint is the head which moves quite slowly but I can replace that when I want to. I did test it in the garden in the sea breeze with my 150-500 too. only at the highest level the legs bend a tiny bit, but I doubt if I will use it that way any way.
  23. thank you for that website that is a very good tool. I will try it with my 150-500mm as the description suggest it holds up to 5kg. Before this , I had a lidl(silvercrest) tripod,.. and with my 70-300mm I got shake from the moment it focussed,.. so that will be my main test! And I live at the beach so the wind is there too to test
