  1. Hi Stan, Happy New Year and welcome to TIPF. We are a friendly bunch but not all from the UK - we have quite an Australian anex too lol
  2. We have been really lucky to miss the worst up here...I cant imagine what it must be like to be caught up in it all. I hope everyone is ok

    Best of 2013

Now that does sound like a good idea I hope he has time to do it for this year too
  5. Grad filters are something that I am interested in too...I have a couple of cheap nd filters that I am happy with but they work on the whole image...great for a milky waterfall though

I don't think a vote from me would be very representative of the year. But If I had to pick just 1 out of the many truly great and inspirational shots posted since I joined (and there are many, many shots that fit that discription from all members), the shot that sticks in my memory has to be BlackPearl's sunrise with the windmill in it, from his This Morning set. It was a well deserved image of the week too. I think its a shot to be proud of, great subject, great perspective and great colours - an overall brilliant image
  7. I want to but I will have to see how the old cash flow goes. If I do, There could be lifts for members near to me
  8. The link doesn't open the site, but I assume it will be too far to travel from the north east?
  9. If its in the name of art then anything is ok: Its art I tell you...ART!!!!!

Kids do like to see where Dad works and what he does. What a treat for him to sit on the forklift
  11. Exactly my problem and one I am working on to improve
  12. And I thought it was a new thread...I must check the dates in future! lol
  13. I went down the lazy route and had mine designed by a web designer...even that was not straightforward, it took 6 weeks and 2 attempts (he usually has them up and running in 2 weeks) but mine was the 1st actual photo sales site he had made and loads different to his usual e-commerce sites. But it was a one off bargain price, and he only charges me £100 per year to host it and he is always there with advice and/or solutions to any problems I might have with it. I also got unlimited email addresses and unlimited bandwidth and he created a Facebook page for me too, as well as advising me on how to increase the page ranking in Google searches etc. I bought the domain name a good 8 months before the site.
  14. That is a disgrace. he is lucky not to have killed his kids and other innocent road users. Daily Mail like or not, I think that should be viewed as attempted manslaughter...OK maybe no such thing exists but he clearly knows how bad his actions were by running off to try and escape, and he had no regard for human life whatsoever!!!! Now, deep breaths David...OK calmed down now
  15. I have never used them personally, I think the return on your time and energy are too small. I went for a website to show and try to sell my work, although the return on that investment has been zero so far lol. I think that has more to do with Google not showing it in related searches though and once it starts to show I am fairly confident of making a limited income from it
  16. As far as taking recognisable shots in public...how come the paparazzi seem to get away with it for the (often) derisory photographs of celebrities? I am all for the protection of public rights but surely innocent, amateur photographs of people in public places, should be fine in my eyes, even if one day you publish and make money from them. However, if someone came up to you and for whatever reason asked you not to use any shots with them in, then I would feel obliged to delete those shots. With the 3 youths fishing in the Tyne in one of my reflection photos, one did ask who I was taking a photo of. I explained that the reflection was the main subject of the photo and went on to say that they would be in the shot, and asked if they minded, they unanimously said they didn't mind and looked quite pleased that they were included.

    Tablet?

I know you thought someone would mention paracetamols or something Leon, but this reminds me of something my Dad said leading up to Christmas... On the news it said, "One of the must have Christmas presents this year is a tablet" My Dad turned to me and said, "Why, I've got loads!"... Absolutely priceless moment, I couldn't stop laughing!

    Perplexed!

and that IS a bad thing
