  1. I am not sure if it is chromatic aberration as it isn't restricted to the high contrast areas. I don't know exactly what diffraction is, but I agree that whatever it is, it will almost certainly be caused by the lens and/or extension tubes.
  2. At least we haven't had the pollution...yet, but we have had almost endless fog here for almost a week. It was a good opportunity to see the effects of it on lighting at first, but now its just getting boring lol.
  3. And I didn't get it lol mind you it was late when I looked at it
  4. Well done Kobi! I am pleased it ended well for all concerned
  5. All I can see is that some of the river has been cropped off at the bottom and at a guess a slight lowering of the exposure? (although that could just be an optical illusion lol) Cropping: no restriction to just lose the 'squareness' of the original to put the buildings on the bottom 3rd of the shot? Exposure: sliding the exposure bar down very slightly in photoshop, elements or equivalent PP suite?

    Help Needed!

    Great thanks, please do
  7. Okay, I realise this a huge long shot...but...I have been invited to submit some photographs to the 1st Pride Glasgow Kaleidoscope Art Exhibition for consideration. The work should have lesbian, gay, bi or trans themes or concepts. I have nothing in my collections that fit this, so I would have to take some new shots especially for the exhibition. I do have some ideas on what I would like to do, but my friends are all camera shy and won't model for me. Does anyone know any couples that could be willing to model for me? Preferably in the North East - Tyne, Wear or Tees areas. I can't pay for modelling work up front, but could arrange for a percentage of any sales generated from the exhibition. The Photographs will, of course, be non nude and very tasteful, showing real life situations. The closing date for submission is April 30th, so as you may realise I am becoming fairly desperate! If anyone wants to inbox me that's fine, thanks in advance
  8. Well done BP, a lovely image (a rare pop up from me lol) I will be all back to normal by the 10th Feb and may even find some time to enter the Photo of the month for this month - I have an idea for it!

Congratulations Colin That's a very fine image and a well deserved POW
  10. If it's accidental call it art haha!... Ok I like the way you have taken the strong vertical shapes of the rocks and at 45 degrees, weakened them to a point of vulnerability...Total art, see No the waves didn't knock me off my feet, It is a study of Conceptual Colours in Nature Total art, see
  11. I would check under the seat every time you sit on it from now on
  12. With the unpredictable forces of nature, I never take risks - that's what a zoom lens is for They are just crazy, even if they escaped unscathed, how many of their cameras would survive a soaking like that?
  13. Hi Ian, welcome to the forum Are you sure it's just one of us Fuzzy? lol
  14. All good news I had quite a few butterflies on the butterfly bush this summer (more than last year) but all common to the area. Some larger spiders would be welcome too
  15. F2.2 gives the best DOF to my eye. Looks like you are getting to know your lens really well

    HDR Photography

I've never actually used HDR. I prefer to under expose bright highlights and bring the shadows up in Photoshop Elements. Although this does mean extra processing to reduce gained noise from the adjustments and increased chromatic aberration. I once tried to fuse under + over exposed images, it was a total failure as I couldn't get them lined up properly. Maybe I just didn't do it right.

Congratulations Martyn. A lovely image, great colours and light and a fantastic sky. Well chosen Heather
  18. Very interesting...I am not so sure about the last one either - although it doesn't look wrong if that makes sense! I am drawn to #2 in the 1st set as well. Maybe because it is so new to me its hard for me to say. I find it fascinating though
  19. 1st I have ever seen or heard of these edits. My initial reaction is that maybe a now and then...with the early photo more of a ghostly apparition on the modern scene?
