  1. I have a problem that many have but don't know about, in fact according to LCE almost everyone has water contamination through condensation or fungus in their lenses. I have had this problem before, and have always put my bags into the car open for gear to dry, and never left them "closed", in doors. I am now going to set aside a "dry" area with de humidifier What do others do and how many (honestly) check your lenses from both ends against a bright white light, have the same problem. According to LCE they are now rejecting almost 60% of trade ins because of this. Global warming !!!!!
  2. Kenco are good. DO NOT (sorry for caps) buy cheap ebays. Look inside you should not see shiny pins or glossy interiors because this causes interior reflections and ruins contrast. I use Nikons but Kenko are very good
  3. Ok so there is a demand, as for vinyl, in the process of transferring my Elvis stuff to MP3
  4. The F6 Why would anyone want to spend £1,500 on one
  5. Look for the overweight chap with JRS Photography T shirt and MEDIA in yellow on the back will buy you breakfast
  6. I could get the Df but I do want a high frame rate, I am willing to bet the Df1 will offer 8fps, if the Df did I would go for it, but buffer and frame rate are what I require. My first camera was a Praktica super TL, then Nikkormat FTn, then Nikon F, then EOS300, EOS10D and now D7000s, so not a lot in 40 years
  7. I must admit that had I not always had Nikon and I was buying new I would be very tempted to get Pentax
  8. I don't appear to be able to quote reply on any posts) Most is sports, hence keeping the D7000s, I love them, they have taken everything I have thrown at them believe me, I have come back from motocross with them covered in dust I don't want the massive file sizes of the D800 I do have what I call a portable kit my Metz guns on stands with triggers direct from camera with brollies and backdrops, though rarely use them. A I say, the majority of what I am doing is contract work see age uk published on my site, and sports, hence the frame rates. Google P1 Superstock Regards
  9. I have just had one built for video and stills editing 3 x 3tb drives 16gig gaming ram twin out vid card i7 sandybridge NO ssd £1.5k You get what you pay for, the more power the better when editing with more than one app open at any one time. I started with CP/M, DOS 3.1, 3.11, windows 3.1, workgroups, and am now on 8.2 on my touch screen Toshiba Laptop and the NON touch screen pc. LOVE 8.2 If you only spend money on one good component get the best screen you can, look at EIZO Eizo also sell ex-demo units
  10. The reason for buying is. I have been into photography since I was 16, I have been into serious photography (as a love and hobby and more) for the past three years, however as of last year when my youngest disabled son was able to be alone at College fuill time I am now in an enviable position of having a photo business that is mainly hobby but I have had and am receiving requests for more and more contract work especially in sports. I am also fortunate that money is not an issue. My father died the other month, up until then I was a single father for 18 years raising three disabled sons, with the money from the sale of his house I am setting my son up in his own decking fencing business (20 year old son) and my youngest is doing plastering at City College Plymouth. I have a "considerable" kit, 80% Nikon D7000s etc, and 20% Canon, being part exchanged at the photo show at NEC for Nikon gear. I am setting aside £10kish, as you can see from my site I shoot mainly sports and will be shooting "for" Ty-phoo tea next year and my son is entering Aquax jet ski next year. Up to my fathers death I and my sons income was my Carers Allowance and their DLA so you see I am now very very fortunate. My shopping list is D4s (or D4) Spare battery SB900, 2x SB700 (I shoot large portraits on occasion) 12-24 Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 At the moment I use 2x Metz 45 CL-4 digitals 2x D7000s 150-500 Sigma (120-400 on Canon) Nikkor 28-300 VR and more
  11. Tried DP review always look there couldn't fine a full D4 review
  12. I will learn what goes where as I post thanks
  13. Well what would you buy D4 or D4s
  14. I am 15' in front of the bike on my stomach when I shoot motocross, we all take risks, you just have to weigh them up But the photographer is not taking the risk shooting the waves, the morons on the jetty are. But the photographer isn't taking the risk the morons on the jetty are
  15. Er well I suppose you just have to take a chance once in a while as I do, feet from the action, the majority of the shots are taken from windows or a distance anyway the photographer isn't taking the risk, the morons on the jetty are 10 minutes earlier I was standing where the bonnet is now With the motocross I shoot I am on my stomach 15' away from the bikes coming head on at me
  16. But come on, very expensive, aimed at the collector/user, just like a Leica. Ok, I agree it is nice, quality, finish etc but should be £800 less. Oh don't get me wrong I will get one as will many I just refuse to pay top £ for what will be available pre owned for £1k less a year from now. I am however looking to replace my long gone Nikon F Photomic Ftn Apollo this year, so who am I to talk about money being wasted,
  17. Love the images on your website especially mono ones Bill
