  1. To be honest you have answered the question "old" MPB are a long established company though I have always found that when you delve deeper and start asking about shutter count, actual quality, what comes with it, box, batteries, etc they are not as good as LCE
  2. You could simply update/edit the original post you don't have to post more than once Hmmmmmm, If you find FF for that let me know Check London Camera Exchange pre owned they have 50Ds on there £350, but that is a very low budget 50D isn't "new tech" If you could go for £450 they have a 60D
  3. Launceston this weekend, hill climb, widemouth surfing and so on Google wiscombe park hill climb
  4. Well possibly, and often the least thought out. I have a number of camera bags, in fact I have a collection going back 20 years, you know how it is you buy a camera then a bag, then an additional lens so an additional bag so I started and still have a great setup of CCS waste belts slr cases and lens cases that fit round the waste, and lately a thinktank 50, all now available for my sons when they travel light. However as gear grows so does the need for backpacks, so I bought over time, five Lowepro Mini trekkers, amazing bags, last a lifetime and £25 or less mint on Ebay However, as gear increases and it has I found that this year I needed a roller bag able to take more kit, a laptop and accessories such as chargers and flash, something easy to get around, and that can easily be taken to a hotel room, (I use travel lodges a fair bit). After buch deliberation, and as is my way, many weeks checking reviews I decided to get the Lowepro X300. Now I know most will neither need or want this case, but, just in "case" some do want a large bag then believe me it fits the bill of safe, secure, ease and quality 100% Here it is set up for me this coming weekend when I will be shooting Hill climbs and a couple of gigs, but when I am shooting sports I just take off the lenses and store them separate, place two bodies in each compartment and put my Siggy 120-400 and 150-500 in as well, there is room. The wheels look small, but this is deceptive, I had hoped for larger, buy during the past two months this has been on beaches, in Docklands, over Cobbled streets and it is so smoooooooth. There is a 3 digit lock, NOT a security lock, 99.999% of cases can be opened with a Stanley knife anyway, however, when in your room, and you pop to the bar it can be put round a radiator as a little piece of mind, of course it is designed for locking in the storage of an aircraft. On that matter the case is VERY VERY rigid and can take quite some punishment. The other nice thing is the "leg" on the back, which means you are able to lean it back to open so nothing falls out. The handle incorporates a thread allowing the mounting of a wireless and there is a neat small pocket for small accessories or cash, which is useful. Now for the party piece, the WHOLE of the inside can be unzipped and removed and used as a really heavy backpack, or in fact if you like, allowing the wheeled part to be used separately as a clothes carrier, studio light bag or whatever. Would I recommend this bag, without a seconds thought.
  5. Who want to join up in Summer for sports events lets say
  6. don't forget to follow us on facebook https://t.co/7qnUz98oWk

  7. 32Gb Sandisk Extreme Pro, I have moved to these for better performance than my Lexar Pros but have noted a double row of contacts, and wonder if they serve a purpose or are for up coming technology
  8. I have had no business from my website, though to be honest it is only there as people "expect" one, all my interest received is from facebook as it can be linked and shared by so many others. It only takes one or two businesses to link to you and it takes off.
  9. I don't look at the stats either, I know because of peoples comments and asking me for photos and work
  10. Ok I know they are not but........ I have had a website for many years, in fact I have been Into IT since sites were done by me in HTML, however, last year my son suggested that I do facebook. As you can see I have facebook for my business and believe me, it knocks a webpage for me sideways. I am linked to many of the riders and sports people, and when I do the Hill climbs and motocross this will be included too this year, so has anyone else found as I have that for business, contacts, promo the old website has now taken a back foot.

£6k a year sounds better, thankfully my father died last year and after 6 months the house is finally on the market, so at 57 I now have a life, you are young yet And before anyone says I am cruel, as a single father of three disabled sons for 18 years he never so much as bought them a pair of shoes, gave me any help or cared.

100% agree with the above, ignore morons who are snobs, I am a extrovert Sagittarian who speaks my mind and you take me as you find me. Shame you are not local Right place Right time !!!!!!, get in the right place and get to know the right people, I did, and I am on anti-depressants and don't mix, but last year I thought s** it, go for it, and it paid off big time

Ok I think I have confused the situation, in "Newspaper" speak I do not have a "press pass" I get a press pass from each event I attend, in other words, the organizers have the ability to allow or decline access to members of the "Media". For example I was admitted as "Press / media" to behind the scenes P1 power boat in Docklands a couple of weeks ago, very limited and a privilege. I also attend as "Press or Media" some events at Beaulieu and other sites, races, hill climbs, surfing etc. I have never found the need for a, technically correct "press pass", In the past and future I find that a direct call to events organizers along with a link to my sites and especially and more importantly these days a good facebook page business orientated always does the job. Of course it helps if you can post better and better and more "well connected" shots of more prestigious events, that comes with working your way up. For example, last year I simply shot P1, this year and for the next three years (so far) I am sponsoring a powerboat team for £18k, that helps

Yep, I shoot D7000s and D7100, use my siggy 150-500 and 8-16mm, and people walk past me with D4 and Nikon 500mm primes, so, are you trying to dissuade yourself

Why are people so concerned about the gear they have, I started with a 60D, ok and that was ONLY because the insurance company replaced my stolen 10D with new for old, are they judging you on the camera you use or the shots you take, come on. I've seen your photos, don't tell them if it bothers you.

hahaha ok........................... See this on my site, I recently did a Recipe Book for Age UK, and did need 5M of insurance at £120 a year. Go to "published, Age uk However I have NEVER ever been asked for insurance at any sports event, I do have it but never been asked,

Well, it is not that easy but easier than people will let on. All I do is phone and ask, explain how good I am say how good YOU are, don't undersell yourself, say you would like to attend as a photographer behind the scene and most of the time no probs. Or as I did 18 months ago, attend a meeting, shoot some good shots, edit well and put them onto a well presented DVD, printed with a good cover and in a case and supply them free, if you check out my P1 Superstock / powerboats page on facebook below, I am now a regular photographer there, simply by asking and being professional, may take you a year from start to finish but heck. 1. Print off FREE photos of god shots for the drivers etc and give them to them, to get in with them, but also because you genuinely want them to have them. 2. Be better than any other photographer there even if it only means that you go back on day 2 and hand out the photos, no one else does score 1 3. Allow the drivers / riders / whoever to be able to download FREE ones for family from your website 4. Send the organizers, magazines free images to use with the proviso that YOUR name/website is associated with the image and you get a free copy of the magazine (Speedscene is good and used mine)

  20. what happened to "One hull of a boat" I liked that

  21. Yeah, I'm happy, have been pondering getting a D4s, don't really want one, but need one in my job, now I will keep the D700s and 7100 and wait, just getting a few lenses before that.
  22. http://thenewcamera.com/tag/nikon-d400/
  23. Not an issue more a, what the heck is it Ok I do know but, as we all know you read that you have 100/500/50 shots available in whatever mode you are in, what I have tried to find out is just "what" the buffer capacity is in actual "RAM" Any ideas of a source of this info eg what "RAM" is in the D7100, D4s etc Thanks
