Smoking and drinking related diseases may also may have some genetic component to them. Some people are naturally more resistant to substances than others and live to a ripe old age, or other things may kill them before tobacco and alcohol does. However you may be one of the less genetically resistant ones where it significantly shortens your life and leads to a horrible death. Nobody knows if they will be the one until it is too late, therefore it's simply a question of it you want to do it since nobody needs to smoke or drink alcohol. If you must, less is always better than more!
We all have to die from something, the question is how quickly do you want to go and are you prepared to tempt fate to find out?

... brilliant Dave... love it... I'm just at the end of a bottle of Blossom Hill... so I couldn't care less about what tomorrow may bring.

First of all let me say I haven't smokes a cigarette since 1970, I do however enjoy the odd cigar.... maybe 2 or 3 a month.
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/uk-eyes-ozs-tough-anti-smoking-laws-062710113.html
The nanny state get's right up my nose, people know the risks of smoking and should be allowed to make up their own minds about whether to continue, it's not just smoking, drinking, driving, crossing the road and flying all have their risks, perhaps we should all just stay safe in bed all day. I wish the government would just get off our backs. If everyone who smokes stopped overnight the government would soon start putting the lost revenue on to something else... probably onto the motorist as bloody usual. Rant over.

This is going to be my swan song. Mark plays many guitars but this Gibson Les Paul is my favourite.

Sorry annie... I've been a fan of Cliff & The Shadows since they started in 1958/59 and this clip was recorded at their 50th anniversary concert at the O2 Arena in 2009. They hadn't played together for nearly 30 years and I think they are just as good now as they ever were and I think Cliff's voice is just as good as ever too.

Stacking is something I've not tried, I am going to give it a go when the Bug season starts again and I may be looking for some brains to pick next spring...

Thanks for all your help Dave... much appreciated.

I've taken the plunge and ordered a Sigma EM 140 DG Ringflash... I hope I'll be happy with it.
-
I'm still chewing this over, the Sigma EM140 is within my price range. I'm not sure that I can justify spending any more, my skills are limited and I probably wouldn't be able to get the best out of something much more expensive.

Thank you Dave for going to all this trouble, I really appreciate your help.

John......from what I learned after winning one on eBay was that unless you are a dentist who wants flat shadowless shots of teeth or odd items....... I frankly wouldn't bother....... They make things look flat and uninteresting in my opinion......I resold it on eBay soon afterwards.
Instead you should save your dosh for something else photographic......then, if you want exciting lighting, or shadowless pics, but a few cheap LED torches, the ones with the very powerful Daylight LEDs......look back through my posts and you will see my experiments with light painting.........much more fun and very challenging.
If you are still ken, why not try to borrow one, so you can see first hand what it can do?

FUJI... I thought the one you won on eBay was a LED Ring or am talking rubbish.

Thank you Dave... I will wide through this later.

I am considering buying a flash ring for use with my Canon 60D DSLR camera and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens which has a 67mm filter thread. This is one flash ring I have been looking at http://www.sigma-ima...40ringflash.htm It looks like I would also have to purchase a 67mm Macro Flash Adapter. I can't seem to find out if this flash ring is compatible with my camera. As I've no experience of flash rings when taking macro shots I would appreciate any advice, would this Sigma be a good buy?
