Since my wife passed away I haven't yet found time to go out with my camera. I'm sure I will do so soon. I have had so many things to sort out but all will be done soon.

How on earth do Painted Ladies arrive in Britain in such good condition after flying up from North Africa.

The Peacock is one of the five butterflies in Britain that can hibernate over the winter. the other four are Small Tortoiseshell, Comma, Brimstone and Red Admiral. The most common way for the other fifty four species of butterflies in Britain is to overwinter either as a caterpillar in their larval stage, or as a chrysalis. The Peacock in this shot has almost certainly overwintered from last year.

I looked it up, it was December 30th 2007 when my late wife and I went from Toddington to Cheltenham. We got off the train at Winchcombe on the return journey and we had lunch at a pub and caught another train back to Toddington. I must do it again but it won't be the same on my own.

Nice image. I went from Toddington to Cheltenham and back some years ago, I understand they go to Broadway now. I must try it sometime.

Just a grab shot I took with my iPhone, I have only recently given up my 13 year old Nokia mobile and moved into the new age.

Looking through my old photos is helping me get through this difficult time and is making me think of summer and photograhy again.

THe bungalow was warm inside, the front faces east and that's where the snow came from. There wasn't as much snow on the roof at the rear or in the back garden.

Another copied colour slide.

This was a colour slide I copied and turned it into a B&W image. The little lad is my son aged 4 years, he seemed to be happy.

I have no astronomical equipment so I'm never going to get great shots, these shots of Jupiter and Moons were taken from my back garden with my Panasonic DMC FZ2000 camera alone. I also have street lighting to contend with which doesn't help.

I have never seen an Aurora... well done you!

I have not yet ventured out with my cameras, my wife's funeral is tomorrow and I am hoping to get started on my new life shortly. I have not felt like doing much since I lost her. I have posted this image before in the distant past but I don't really want to return to the forum and post nothing.

I took this shot in the Elan Valley in Mid Wales some years ago, I am hoping I will get out with my cameras again soon, It's been a long time since I did that due to looking after my wife through her long fight with cancer. I am really missing her, I hope the turning point will come following her funeral on Tuesday, maybe then I will start to pick myself up and move forward.

This is another place near to me (11 miles) that I have not visited, I could never afford a Morgan so maybe I wouldn't be welcome...

This is a nice capture but there seems to be a blue cast... maybe it's my monitor.

Considering Monmouth is not that far from me it's not a place I have visited much, these are nice shots. I must try and go there sometime.

This is my lovely Pammy age 19 (1970) on Fistral beach at Newquay in Cornwall, it is another copied colour slide. We married a year later, it's so hard losing her.
