Great photo.
We have a night heron here seen around the creek at times called the Nankeen Night Heron. Similar appearance with the long white plume at the neck. Ours is cinnamon colours.that's sounds like it's a yellow crowned night heron. they look pretty similar, except the top of their head is a pale yellow instead of black.

aww, c'mon man, no nudity. i use a work computer!
love the tones on this. looks like she's a real peach too. unfortunately i have one of those pesky essential jobs so i'm stuck working through this mess while the rest of the world has an extended netflix and chill vacation. i want to sit at home and be bored to death like everyone else.

good luck, hope they can solve it for you.

try turning that off. it causes a lot of problems with video games, so i wouldn't be surprised to see photoshop having issues with it.

is your graphics card running hardware acceleration?

it works for me. not saying you don't have an issues, just saying i can't reproduce it on my machine.
are you using a wacom tablet or some input other than a mouse and keyboard? after reinstalling did you try the mask and select tool before reinstalling your plugins?
do you use windows 10? if so right click on your desktop, choose display settings. scroll down to where it says change the size of text, apps and other items and make sure it's set to 100% and not 125%. other than that i have no idea what's going on.

i'll have a look at it later tonight when i get home.
have you done a complete reinstall of photoshop? what else have you tried to fix this?

thanks james. there's not much difference between a digital mf and a digital full frame camera. there's a lot more difference between a full frame camera and a real mf camera. the 50r is nice, but it's not built for all types of photography. af is pretty slow, but it's perfect for landscape photography.

thanks everyone
