  3. Ah! so you are waiting until all the midges are just about gone
  4. Ah Jeff , the never mind does mean I can justify buying the new lens and the old one served me well, it has been used practically every day for the last 20 months, out in all weathers, humped & bumped everywhere, never been in a camera bag. I'm now using a 20yr old Tamron 28-200 that I had with my old eos100 which is making me appreciate how good the 18-270 was. I think I will take more care of the new one
  5. Thanks Leon, I have a most needs covered that will do me for now but I will wait until I can get the 16-300, It's a lens I can use 99.9% of the time. I'm a lazy photographer and hate carrying a lot of clobber.
  6. Just received an estimate to fix my most favorite lens, Tamron 18 -270(older version)........ £239 it only cost £300 new. So I will just save the £239 and put it towards the 16-300 Tamron I have been lusting after. One problem...will have to wait until November when a modest pension pot will open up Never Mind..................
  7. Festcu, take no notice of these Gloom & Doom Merchants it's a wonderful place and only the female midge bites :) No midges on the east coast

    hello.

Same here Leon Haven't posted much myself lately, just a few holiday pics on FB, nothing I can say I have been very excited about. Enjoy your weekend
  17. The air ambulance passed overhead, thought it may have been a mountain bike accident until I turned on the news, really tragic, frankly I would need to be well out of the way if I were a spectator.
