Yes i agree JH, but then again, they will be desperate for the tourist dollar. And we had a blast when we traveled through Greece (admittedly a few years ago). Don't think I ever drank so much Retsina in my life (and never will again!)
Absolute bummer of a trip Chrissy, hope it all works out in the end.

(Shhhsh.. I can sell you a cheap upgrade to you, for your topic title which allows you to upgrade your title to Voting Now (HINT) - bargins much cheapness, please send your bank account details to make it happen...)
Brilliant...
Hope you are all calm and settled now Chrissy, no fun when s*#t hits the fan on holidays (and you are not a bad girl)

Oops been awaiting poll then realised it was up to me. Will do it shortly. Sorry guys.

signed. Its a shame that our hobby has come to this. Just because we have a 'big' camera doesn't mean anything, Everyone is taking the same photo on their mobile phones and doing (ours are just 'sometimes' better).

I do think wine helps the photo thinking head, but perhaps doesn't help with the technical side of the camera. Use it well

Nice topic Geoff, invites images of texture, mannequins and all sorts. Got me thinking and searching with my best friend Mr. Google:
Here is a link to a tutorial specifically about shooting clothing:
and I really liked this one as it suggests that you don't need much additional lighting gear

congratulations Geoff, a lovely photo of the fox cub in action (foxes are a pest around here so while they are beautiful animals they are not popular)

We have a great club (50 paid members, about 30 active) and a committee of 11!I I was president for 3 years and am now still on Committee. I worked really hard to make our committee meetings fun, run efficiently and to time. We also have an unwritten rule that the positions should be rotated after 2 years so that people don't butn out We now lobby next years committee before we go to an AGM so that there are no surprises and no uncomfortable moments for anyone. We directly ask individuals who have been part of the club for a year or two to join us on Committee. We also carefully divide up the work so that it is shared (ie new members, minutes and agenda, supper, newsletter, website, activities, publicity, exhibition etc) and each job has a short job description attached.
I do agree with Fuji, that every committee goes through something like this every so often (7 year itch). If it were me I would read the constitution carefully, threaten to dissolve the club and ask for suggestions to where the club money should be donated to. Send a generic email to everyone stating the situation and some of them will come out of the woodwork. If you don't get enough, then go and join another club!
