  1. A lovely part of the world ...  hardly surprising however that it started to rain .....😂 It comes with the territory   doesn't it ....still ....small price to pay for   having Snowdonia National park on your doorstep !  Interesting  how the movement of the water  changes   the details of the reflections too.

  2. That's a dramatic  looking sky Homer ...  lovely contrasts and a very pleasing composition. Its a part of the world I know quite well... I  went to school just over in what used to Merionethshire  before Gwynedd encompassed most of that northern  part of Wales.   Some  lovely seascapes  to be had in that area ...

  3. Hello Homer ....Welcome to the Forum ... It's a friendly and helpful small community where we try to comment on every  image that is posted so looking forward to seeing what floats your boat in the photography sense. Tell us a bit more about  yourself too  and meanwhile  please join in and comment on other members pictures  too... I see  you are located across the border in lovely Wales  so I am wondering if the lovely scenery   and landscapes  on your doorstep mean it is a genre  you are interested in.

  4. So sorry to hear your news Rye … I remember you posting this pic …it a lovely portrait …something to keep as a treasured memory … She was rescued by you and has had a  kind and loving owner for the last seven to eight years  … we owe it to our pets to prevent unnecessary suffering  and hard as it is they seem to tell us when it’s time …  my thoughts  and sympathy  to you Rye .

Thanks Polly. I am going to try extending the floor in front of the light areas. Seems to me they take the eye out of the frame. Thoughts?

If you can extend  into shadow  beyond the  two panes  at the bottom of the pic  it  would  give  a  foundation to the  image and  make the  light from the window  a leading line into the  pic rather than  out  of it...I agree  it   would resolve that ... Alternatively  it might just require reducing the contrast  on the  light from the window a tad  on the  bottom two panes in the pic . I suspect if you have cropped it and have  the floor to utilise , the former might be the best option ... Be interesting to see ...

I have just noticed that as my background  to the posts on TIPF uses the dark mode and is virtually the same tone as the  floor , the light at the  bottom   isn't that obvious in taking the eye out of the picture  so it just emphasises  how important  the colour and tone  of background  can be to the images exhibited .

  6. Yeah I’ll second Hatter’s sentiments … it explains your absence too Martyn… life really is a tapestry and a small photography community like this is only a small stitch in it …and just a small part in that bigger picture we call life … so it’s great to see you back here …👍🏻

  7. Yeah ... where have you been Sir !!   That is a very crisp set of mono pics Martyn ... i love the boaty bokeh in the first  image and the composition in the second . I think you could even get a good portrait version too in the  second  pic ... ...  Good to see you back ...we really do need more members posting so  .... hope you can visit us more often  ... 😉
