  1. Root Admin: I have just seen your message "Re-sizing files for Web posting, using Photoshop". I have Adobe Photshop Elements 12, I should think that would be far better than using iPhoto. Thanks very much indeed, greatly apreciated. Cheers, Sam
  2. colinb Thanks for commenting, I tried to upload the JPG files straight from the camera but the site software said the files were too big to upload. I reduced them with iPhoto and they came out the size on this thread (the first four). I will try to upload another one, using a larger size. This boat pic is the next size up, coilnp, this looks the right size doesn't it? Please be kind enough to let me know if it is in fact, the right, size. Thanks very much for your help. Cheers, Sam ============================== Mr Rundle, You said the outboard motor would look better in black and white, sorry but I don't like it in black and white. Thanks for your comment though. You also said, Quote "If others don't like them, TOUGH" Tough on who?, the photographer or the viewer.????? Thanks, Sam
  3. Wow! Thanks to all who looked and commented. A member asked about the age of the Nikon Coolpix 990 I am told it came out in 1999-2000. Sam
  4. I have posted four pictures of a trip on the river, on my uncle's little inflatable and ancient outboard engine. We had a lovely time, we went to a pub and had a drink and a sandwich and then sailed back to the caravan.
  5. This is my first attempt at uploading to your forum, I apologise in advance for any silly errors I may make. My camera is a 15 years old Nikon Coolpix 990 from ebay for £18 a few months ago. If my snaps are not good enough for a forum like this, please tell me and save all of us any further enbarrassment. Thanks, Sam.
  6. It looked as though it was a show off competition and all that stuff was a swaggering boast because he must like to show off. I have only modest equipment, but I like taking photographs. I won't show off because my parents tell me there is no need. My Nan says people who boast and show off are just tying to impress other people for some reason or another, usually because they are insecure and thrive on thinking they are better than others and love being in the spotlight, my grandpa says that I must never boast and show off or he will kick my behind and I know he means it.
  7. Do I photograph all the empty boxes as well like what you have. I'm new on here.
  8. What is the significance of the stuff and boxes etc etc in the photograph
