Bubbles in the tank

Recommended Posts

Hi Terry

easy enough to do.

* one med fish tank (or something similar)

* 3 straws (one inside the other, for length) taped together, cut the last straw in the tank if too long.

* something to raise the tank and take the weight (i use a box with part of the bottom cut out and a piece of glass taped to it, (glass to take weight as well).

* coloured card under the tank and another coloured piece of card 'blu tacked' or clipped to the back. you can use the same colour all round if you want.

* focus on the straw or 12" ruler placed inside the tank of water.

* i have my off camera flash placed under the box pointing up into the tank and two desc lamps pointing into the tank, for various results use different amount of lighting.

once you have your focus point, blow through the straw so the bubbls are as near as poss to that point.

best to use a remote switch on the camera (camera on a tripod or suitable surface if on your own), click away when bubbles are blown.

hey presto, bubbles in a tank.

settings vary dependin on the amount of light and effects wanted, so trial and error on that one.

have fun, look forward to seeing your results.

geoff

ps the middle picture is the first one, third is the second and the first is the last.
