Seriously though, late Thursday evening our neighbour 2 doors down, a 70 year old lady that lives alone, was burgled. It seems she had been in bed just 20 minutes when these scum entered her rear door and helped themselves to her handbag containing £20, her bank card and her daughter's car keys.

They then blatantly walked up and down the street trying the keys in all the cars (except my RR), thankfully her daughter lives a mile down the road so wasn't able to find the right one.

All this was going on outside our window while we were watching TV, we didn't go to bed until midnight.

 

These images are from a DIY CCTV system I have round the house, damn good in daylight but not so at night. Obviously the footage has been submitted to the police but I wanted to try my hand at enhancing the stills myself.

I've had a go with one of the files (bottom), I now appreciate just how difficult it is.

How would you go about it?

scumbags, problem is that the resolution is lowish and the light is poor so I'm not sure there is any detail too enhance

It also has a bad effect on the people that are burgled.
Both of my daughters houses have been broken into.
The first while my oldest daughter, her husband and three young children were upstairs asleep, and the other was my younger daughter who was at our house one boxing day.
They smashed her door frame to get in and even stole a suitcase to carry the stuff in as well as my daughters bike and some of my granddaughters Christmas presents.
My youngest daughter lived on her own with a small child and it had quite a bad effect on her for a long time.

 

People who do this are scum, the lowest, and I hope the lady in this burglary will  be able to get over it and feel safe again in time, as I know how it makes people feel afterwards.

Phil I've had a play and I too haven't come up with anything better due to the lack of pixels.

One thing I assume you have noted and mentioned to the Police is the guy on the left in pic 1 appears not to be wearing gloves, have they dusted for prints?

Surprisingly the lady doesn't seem to be too phased by it all, carrying on with her life as normal, far braver than me. I have CCTV around the house because of a break-in I had around 20 years ago!
