Costa Coffee

Just playing with a cup of coffee. Slowly getting to grips with selections. I already know the little star burst is a bit cheesy!

Strange distortion - the cup appears to be centred on the saucer (sitting in its little recess), yet also seems to be on one side. Did you take this at a very wide angle setting? The rather shallow DOF would suggest not..

The cup has a strange design where the cup sits on the saucer in an of centre position.

It leaves room for the spoon and, maybe, biscuit :-)

Great idea. I have been thinking hard over the last few days what I am going to do in the coming year with photography. This sort of shot, table top, is going to feature quite a lot as it fits in with the time I have to spend at home. Shots like this inspire me to get going.

I'm assuming you shot the original in Costa rather than having the cup at home? 

 

it's a shame the heart is not correctly placed but I guess you can't really start faffing about to get the best composition in Costas', well not without .looking a bit of an anorak

Yep, shot in a Costa cafe Colin. It was more a shot to give me a bit of processing practise than anything.
