Back In The Studio

I have a new shoot tomorrow, so Studio equipment back out, and on location..

Just wondered if anyone else uses Strobes, Softboxes, Brollies etc ????

Doing a shoot for a make up Brocure, so Nails and Make up stuff lol...

I use Ellinchrom equipment, anyone else ???

we have a room set up as a studio with a backdrop, lights, brollies and a light tent and some lights haven't done any "shoots" yet been too busy with the day job. how do you fit the shoots in around your day job? do you only do them at weekends or is your boss accommodating?

I am my Boss lol, and most of my shoots are " After Work" as then we are all relaxed, what lights do you use, and are they all stobes?? or ambient too...

I have sooooo many reflectors, and some always come out, as they are small enough...

so you are self employed, what's your day job? my lights are low voltage ambient with light brollies dont have any flash units other than the 430x and the built in flash

I've no interest in doing pro shoots but I would like to have a go at some more pro quality type family shots.

Again, fancy brand names mean nothing to me (I'm a Matalan kinda guy ) so I've looked at This on the bay. It may suit my needs, it may not but I can't really complain at the price.

thats what we have more or less. ours only has two lights and the brollies are both white. The backdrops arent great they are a little thin

Unfortunately Sunday was cancelled as the Model was poorly..

Im "NO" pro Phil, but using the correct equipment does give some amazing results.. and brand names in this industry have to stay competative..

Richard.. Im an Electrical Engineer, and have to cover the Lower half of the country from Birmingham to Cornwall, Norfolk to Brighton and everything inbetween :-)

I just sold my 430ex, as upgraded to the 580exII as performs better with the 7D

ouch thats one hell of an area to cover is it a very specialist form of electrical engineering so there are limited customers hence the huge area needed to get a decent customer base??

Yes im a specialist in my field, and work with petroleum and LPG, so keeps me busy on the road :-)

is it a good idea to mix electric with petrol and LPG ? sounds like an explosive mix. did you do any work at buncefield before it was closed down for a refurb?

I dont work on the Refinary, I work on the outlets, so petrol stations etc, and no, petrol LPG and electric dont mix very well lol, thats where I come in and make sure that everything is safe for the public to use etc
