Loch na Lathaic

I like both shots, but I'm going to stick up (no pun intended) for #1. I don't think the post is a bad subject, but the eye does rather jump from post to sky and back again. I'm also rather more distracted by the great expanse of yellow-brown in the foreground. Even so, it's an attractive shot, that works on several levels.

However, having said that, I wonder if there are two shots here? One of the Loch without the post, i.e. from a couple of feet to the left. The other, a bit lower, where the post is a dramatic foreground element against a backdrop of hills and sky ... and possibly in mono? (I can see it in my mind, but it's a bit difficult to explain something so visual in words.)

Hi Kev the second one for me it's a cracking shot and well worth waiting for.

If I could make a suggestion perhaps using a grad on the sky to make it not so light and a little more warmth just a suggestion .

Thanks all for the comments and feedback. Really appreciated. Paul, the grad - good idea. To be honest, these were processed some time ago. My processing skills have move on somewhat. The second actually looks very nice in print and is hanging on my Fathers living room wall. :)
