I was lucky to be a part of this exhibition by Dan Holdsworth a little while back but never got round to sharing the images or the story.

 

These look like gigantic landscape photographs but they aren't - they are made from number crunching aerial imaging data to produce a representation of the environment - the paper stack is filled with millions and millions of numbers that together create the images you see on the walls. When you stood back they looked 'real' but as you got closer you could see the scan lines and data points making each image. 

 

Fascinating and somehow rather beautiful.
