Swan Eye's

Recommended Posts

The kids were feeding the birds on the canals at Skipton yesterday (great day out by the way) so I took the opportunity to shoot them.

Pentax K30

Pentax 50-200mm

1/5000s  - f4.5  - 800iso

Slightly odd combo but I had the iso up a little to keep the shutter speeds high enough to stop any movement. I had been shooting around f8ish but wanted a very narrow DoF.

Took a while to get one (nearly) head on and have it hold the pose for long enough to get a shot and get the eyes sharp and stop Thomas from throwing himself in with the duck food and stop Dylan from trying to catch a pigeon (no sing at the back please) so this was a bit of perseverance and luck.
