I wish it was possible but it's private land so you have to shoot from the road bridge, the lens is fantastic although I do need to get my head round the focus pre-sets and fancy buttons, it does have some weight to it but hand holding is possible, the second image (tern) was handheld

Focus presets I think would come in handy if you have a specific set position - my main thought is bird perches you have specifically set up.

 

In practice though, I have found it easier just to let them camera re-focus.

 

What camera bag do you have and will it encompass this beast you have purchased? :)

I have a hard case for mine, gave up with it in the end and bought an enormous bag. It means the lens is inside protection more than when I had the case as I couldn't carry it with me easily at shows.

Also makes my bag so heavy I defy anyone to outrun me carrying it :)
