what floats your boat ?

i was looking at some of the images posted today and ive realised that what "floats my boat" in a photograph is if i can imagine a story behind it, if the image can take me into its world and perhaps show me more than is actually there to see. if it touches me emotionally or if it gets my imaginative juices flowing so to speak. Doesnt really matter to me if its technically good or not.

so now im curious, how about you lot ? what floats your boat with images that you look at ?

The realization that photography awakens a 6th sense.

It doesn't have to be technically perfect but simply the fact you're seeing something you wouldn't normally have seen.

A vista no longer becomes an everyday scene but a shadow from the nearby gate post can alter ones perception of what's unfolding before your eyes.

Certain types of photography can lend themselves to easy viewing simply because of the interesting nature of the subject matter.

What floats my boat is when some rather mundane object or everyday scene can be transformed through natural light and shadow into something of excellence that can be admired and people wish to emulate.

After saying this I must add that it would be almost impossible to tie this down to one particular type of photography as every day I see on here something truly amazing.
