Sure - I will have a look online for a tut. But are you sure it would have created a continuation of the reflection? (I only ask because it's not immediately obvious in your example).

 

 

the displacement map and the reflection are both separate layers so can be adjusted individually in all aspects - as in these two variations (2nd a little extreme I wouldn't go this far)

I think those both work in that they recreate a 'reflected look'. But, I still prefer mine as it shows the extended reflection in the same manner as the original. Yours both look as though there is quite a stiff breeze blowing across the foreground, creating ripples.

I don't disagree Chris, just trying to save time in front of the pc.

 

Too true LOL. However, in one sense it was valuable as it taught me quite a lot about what Photoshop is capable of, especially with a bit of ingenuity and experimentation added.
