nikon d200?

Recommended Posts

Hi I have a d3100, I recently found out the d200 is a great camera too. but I want your advice on this,.. would it be a good second body?

I usually take a zoom lens and a 50mm lens with me so it would be handy to have the camera ready

Old sensor with a narrow dynamic range, limited iso, and colour range. The AF is decent but not fantastic, its uses CF cards not SD and the screen is a bit grim by todays standards - that said its well made, fast (ish) had a good range of body controls and has creative lighting.

If it were (very) cheap I may be tempted but I used to have one and looking back my files are no where near as good as those from a newer sensor.

With a motor....hmmm....D7000 if thats in budget.

Massively and I mean massively better sensor, still has good physical controls, quick, good build, 39 point AF and a 100% viewfinder.

if it's any help I moved from a D80 to a D7000 and would agree with BP's comment above.
