Much more than a couple of decades I'd say too.
I am 70 and remember going with my dad when I was little to the local shell and BP pumps just up the road from where we lived. I think they would have stopped using them more than 50 years ago.
It brings back memories to see this smashing pic. Nice one!  :thumbup:

Very atmospheric - far older than the pumps my dad used to stop at in the 60s. Petrol at 11p per gallon! Wonder when that was last true? I bet even then that motorists complained about the cut the Government were taking...

 

That building looks as though it is leaning slightly to the left. No really - the pump and building edge are perfectly upright, but the doors and windows have a slight 'list', to my eyes at any rate.
