introducing me...

Hi all,

Yes, today I reached the 30 posts threshold. I've updated my photo and about page but the contact contains old likes sections as icq, etc.

I've used the about page, but don't see how to configure your signature - when you add a comment or a post, there would be a line and then a signature. How to configure that?

Is it ok if post my my personal links here, or what is the best method to introduce myself properly, so that you guys can view some of my work?

Thank you.

Kind regards, Stan Photography.

Hi all,

Happy New Year to all.

I'm new to this forum and is my first photography forum I signed up though I started photography 2 years ago. It's great to see such a large community of photographers in Uk.

Since I'm new and now getting to know the threads and forum rules, while I don't want to offend anyone, I'm asking here, how/where should I post a announcement of selling my gear - I have APS-C sensor camera and want to upgrade to a FF, hence reason for selling and thought that there might be someone interested in it.

However, though I'm in the special offers, I want to know where should I go to post the details on the gear I have and is at sale.

Also, would like to know where can I ask some of you experienced photographers about which HDR software you use and which one you recommend - what's the best place for that?

Thank you in advanced.

Kind regards, Stan Photography.

Alright, what do I shot? I've tried shooting night photography, wildlife, Landscape, but want to focus on Portraits and Wedding Photography.

So, I've decided to break down to these two topis - Portraits and Wedding Photography and rest.

I've tried to edit some of the contact forms to include this but they refer to outdated social media platforms like icq aim etc, so I decided to paste in here. I hope that's alright.

Please feel free to like or comment on any photos with constructive feedback or connect with me.

Thanks to numpty for pointing where the signature settings was - seeing it now, works fine.

Look forward to see likes and connecting requests on the social media portals from you all.

Thank you all.

Kind regards, Stan Photography.

I would start with portraits - you can practise on friends and family and perfect your skill. Once you've got a portfolio of good portraits, you will find people start coming to you to shoot their kids, their pets, their parties, you name it. However, there is very little opportunity to practise a wedding : people getting married expect a skilled rendition of their big day, and wouldn't even contemplate someone doing a 'dummy run'. To become a wedding photographer, the best approach is to be an apprentice to an established photographer and learn that way.

Hi ChrisLumix,

That's a very good point and very good idea. Actually, if I recall how i discovered my passion for photography few years back, it started at one of my relatives' wedding.

There's a short description of that on my blog at http://www.bystan.co.uk/photography/

I would take your advice and propose this in the portraits photography if any experienced photographer would be interested in having me as a second shooter (for the beginning I prefer to be running in 'fly on the wall' mode and capture more of PJ photos and not interfere at all with normal shooting process of the experienced photographer). That's a brilliant idea and want to thank you for that.

Will add a post describing that and see what turns out into.

Btw, I've added few more photos on the swan thread. Would be great to know what you think of these as well, if you have any time.

Cheers,

Regards, Stan Photography.
