The Locked Door

That works for me Terry. There's loads of mystery created and it makes me want to open it up and see what more there is out there . I love the way the light is really subdued on this side and so bright and welcoming on the outside. well spotted and thanks for sharing :)

How many of you other old farts immediately thought about that telly programme from way back called "The Secret Garden"?

Lovely pic :)

Whats the secret garden says this old fart much too new for me

What I was trying to work out, whilst wating for matron to bring me my horlicks,  was that  the criss cross meshing is missing from the top part of the gate  was this deliberate or broken off and Is this a cross between a gate and a door

Steady away image though

Being an Old Phart myself, the song from the fifties "What's behind the Green Door" came to mind first. Was it the high kicking Frankie Vaughan?

I hope I'm not the only one to remember him.

Being an old fart as well I thought it was Shaking Stevens who did "the Green Door", but that could have been a later version

That is a picture that does make you wonder what's on the other side. Good control of exposure with the foreground being a fair bit darker than the other side of the gate.

Being a nearly old fart and former disc spinner myself, I can confirm that Shakin' Stevens had a UK number one in 1981 and Frankie Vaughan had the early big hit with this in the UK reaching number 2 in 1956 according to my book (two other versions also in 1956 had lesser success), but I don't remember the early versions :D

Several recorded it other than Frankie and Shakin but a quick google produced this lot

Jim Lowe, Bill Hayley, Crystal Gale, The cramps, Los Nikis, Roland Alphonso, Wynder K Frog, Houston and Dorsey, Ray Hamilton, The Promenade Orchestra, Danny Colfax Mallon, Gene McDaniels, Country Dick Montana, Eskew Reeder, Jumpin' Gene Simmons, Sip & Flip, The Jerms ,Skitzo

Jim Lowe is credited with the being the first as Bob Davie, who composed the music, led the orchestra that backed him

Knocked Elvis off the 1 spot

Is the door not blue?  Maybe we should look at Angus Stone for that song
