Sunset

Recommended Posts

I had what I consider to be a really good response for my Kookaburra post last week and feel that I learned a lot.

So, I thought I'd throw another at you to see what you think.

I know that sunsets are not everyone's cuppa tea, but I quite like this one, to the extent that it sits proudly on the living room wall. Do I hear a groan?

But I would like to hear your thoughts.

Brian

Almost everyone likes a good sunset or sunrise, key things are;

Don't rely on colour alone have some good content and strong composition (this shot is fine)

Don't over saturate the colours (again you are fine here)

The silhouette is strong and my only crit would be to reduce the black base to 50% of it's present depth. It has no value as far as content so is only there to act as a base for the image.

Hung on the wall - excellent; it's the best way to enjoy your work.

The groan you heard was from Fuji - lone tree shots are not his favourite :lol:

It's a pretty good shot all told. You've let the sunset tell its own story, which is the point of such images I guess. It's quite difficult to add your own particular mark to a scene of natural beauty though not impossible. I'm still learning a lot here.
