I'm quite fond of The Schu now he's retired. I've transferred all my hate to the relentless Vettel.

I think you and quite a few others :turned: , but I think Vettel still has a long way to go to be able to match Schu in all he did. The way he turned around the fortunes of many of the teams he joined was way beyond compare.

I agree. And if Lewis Hamilton did half the obsessive "homework" that Vettel does, and had the same car, I think we'd see a tight fight for the Drivers' Championship year after year. And the same goes for Alonso who I happen to think is a better driver than Vettel, making the most of a far inferior car.

I too think Alonso is a great driver, consistently achieving through superb driving.  next season might be a change, Vettel is already complaining about the car (allegedly)

Hamilton always said he joined Mercedes for this coming season, he must have had a test drive of the new engines or something. So I am expecting a lot from him and Mercedes next year. Time will tell on that and how red bull and Vettel cope with the changes to the cars and new engines, and of course, you can never rule out ferrari lol

I don't think Hamilton was especially prescient - after all, Mercedes (as Brawn) were as dominant as Red Bull are now back about 5 years ago; and Mercedes - as well as having the determination to get back to the top - have resources for R&D that even McLaren could only dream about. I think Hamilton's performance this season relative to Button, proved his point better than anything else. Next season? The new rules will make it fascinating .. I hope!
