More shots from the beer garden. Music is a serious business, there is no place for a smiling face, or as they say at work; a face like a man chewing a wasp! ;). The beer must have got to me, the second shot looked ok on the camera screen but I was gutted when I got home and discovered I'd missed the focus.

I do like the grumpy faces in the first, but I think the second shot is brilliant! What do you mean about the focus, it looks all right to me? (Anyway, that's the camera's job, not yours :D )

Thanks for the kind comments all! Number two was taken from quite a distance away, I saw the guy walk along the path behind the beer garden and I decided to get a shot. I zoomed right out to max, he stopped and faced the band, I tried to get the focus spot on his eye and took the shot, he turned and walked away and I never saw him again all weekend. It's a shame that the fence is in focus but his eyes are soft. The image is heavily cropped to get rid of the crowd and a guy with a phone taking a pic with his arm outstretched, so the camera was probably fooled by all the clutter in the original picture.

I think you're being over-critical. This is one subject that if anything is enhanced by being ever so slightly soft (if indeed it is, though I can't see it myself).
