Walsall Arboretum (for Nannyferret)

Recommended Posts

Same as anywhere, Walsall has lovely places like this, it has places you wouldn't venture. I live in west bromwich and it has a reputation for being a bit doggy. I live 500yds walk from sandwell valley and 100's of acres of green belt which is gorgeous. Would i move? Probably not if i am honest, i am trying to sell my house but if we manage it wasn't too stay within the same streets just a smaller house.

What a shame that they don't do this now.

Excuse pic. Had to download it from Redbubble.

Shot in pouring rain and I was wiping the lens every couple of minutes and keeping the camera dry with a large microfibre cloth.

Yeah one of my highlights as a kid was a trip to the lights at Walsall Arboretum. Its still a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. I go most weekends on the way to my mums and take Rosie (my border terrier) for a wak round there on the way. Suppose council cuts or something stopped it. They seem to stop all the things worthwhile because they cant see a value i suppose.

I would have paid more to see the lights if they had kept them going.

We have been once since and they were working on the place then.
My son-in-law who was suffering from MS and was poorly the year that we went and we had planned to all go the following  year but they had stopped it by then.

He had always wanted to see the lights, but he sadly never got the chance.

It's a long trek for us too. A bus, then two trains and then the return journey, but we will do it one day again, hopefully.

Nice set Denny, No.2 for me. I too enjoy sticking a 50mm on my camera body and enjoy the simplicity of using a fix lens and having it make me 'see' and 'move'.

My 2 favourite lens 50 & 30mm primes. Make you shoot less shots and think more
