Why can't Manufacturers

make a standard charger to use with All camera.s , ALL  mobile phones, and all portable devices?
I have packed into my photography backpack, Two camera chargers, one portable modem+ base/charger, and one mobile phone charger.
It takes up more of my backpack than camera's and filters do, and it's heavy too.  :realmad:

that would make life far too easy and cheap nanny..!

Very true, Annie.

If I was taking my tablet then I could use the same charger for that and my mobile phone, but I am taking my net-book so I can do some editing at night, so again  that has to have it's own charger.

Hopefully my son will be there before us, so will pick us up.

The caravan is only at the end of the prom anyway, so we can jump on the little land train if we are there first.

I didn't know which big camera bag to take, but I decided on the back pack as it has chest and waist straps top spread the weight.

My son upgrades my mobile phone when he gets a new one, so I don't complain about that charger. The one that I have with the Blackberry isn't too big, but even the little ones add to taking up more space.
We travel by train and have to change so we try to get luggage as compact as possible. Mind you, I have stuffed an oven chip tray in my main bag    as hubby is on a low fat diet, but that will be staying there so lesson the bulk a bit coming back.

We just have to try and get the kitchen sink in now.  :wallbash:  :o

I treated my self to a fishing rucksack, even has a built in stool which comes in handy for a break and also saves my poor knees when doing those low down macro shots. ok so it has not got all the different compartments inside, but as I don't have shed loads of gear it works for me. I do have a lowpro over the shoulder bag, I always wear it round my waist, I find it to heavy carrying stuff on my shoulder...

Probably because there are different types of battery Nanny that require different types of charger. For instance a charger for Lithium-ion batteries as used in many DSLR's needs internal electronics that regulate the way they charge in order they are charged safely. Using the wrong charger or charging method for them can cause an explosion and fire:-
