These are lovely!

I have the problem that you have had with the beak when I have to have the Aperture wide open when it's dull weather.

You can't lower your shutter speed because of movement, so you have to take a chance with other settings, but the eye contact in both shots is brilliant.

Well captured.

Where was it?

many years ago it was a petting zoo, my mum actually donated her Goat to them when I was around 17?  foot and mouth saw an end to it all, it's a few miles from the moors so everything in the place was destroyed at the time :(

That's very sad!  Were all of the animals lost to the foot and mouth

Once a disease like that gets hold there's no stopping it.
The rescue that I fostered for had to cancel a couple of shows that were ran to raise money for the ferrets upkeep and vets treatment.
This was because there were outbreaks of distemper in other parts of the country and people travelled miles from all over the place to come to the shows that were run by Mercia Ferret Welfare and other ferret rescues.

Although money was tight for the rescue, cancelling the shows was the only way to stop people from bringing ferrets which may have the disease in the very early stages and not noticed by their owners.
Luckily it worked for all of our ferrets and none of them went down,  but hundreds were lost in other parts.
It was heartbeaking
